Custom Bridal & Engagement
Our Custom CAD Design Process
Creating a custom engagement ring or bridal piece is a collaborative journey that blends artistry, engineering, and fine craftsmanship. We use advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology to ensure every detail of your design is perfected before it is brought to life.
1. Design Consultation & Inspiration
Every custom piece begins with a personal design consultation. During this stage, we discuss your vision, lifestyle, budget, and any inspiration you may have—whether it’s a vintage heirloom, a modern silhouette, or a completely original idea. We review gemstone options, metal choices, setting styles, and proportions to ensure the design is both beautiful and practical for everyday wear.
2. Concept Development
Based on your input, our designers translate your ideas into a refined concept. This includes determining the overall structure of the ring, stone placement, band width, prong style, and decorative elements. Attention is paid to balance, comfort, durability, and how the piece will complement your chosen gemstone.
3. CAD Modeling (Computer-Aided Design)
Once the concept is finalized, we create a highly detailed 3D CAD model of your jewelry design. This digital model allows us to visualize the piece from every angle and ensures precise measurements down to fractions of a millimeter.
With CAD, we can:
-
Perfect proportions and symmetry
-
Adjust stone size, setting height, and band thickness
-
Ensure structural integrity for long-term wear
-
Preview how light will interact with the stones
This stage eliminates guesswork and allows for exact precision before any metal is cast.
4. Client Review & Refinements
You’ll receive realistic CAD renderings of your design for review. This is your opportunity to request adjustments—whether it’s refining the profile, altering prong styles, modifying engraving, or fine-tuning proportions. Changes are made efficiently at this stage, ensuring your final design is exactly what you envision.
5. Wax Model Creation
After CAD approval, the digital design is transformed into a physical wax model using high-resolution 3D printing. This wax serves as the blueprint for casting and allows us to verify scale, comfort, and detail before production begins.
6. Casting in Precious Metal
The wax model is used to cast your piece in your chosen precious metal—such as platinum, 18k gold, or 14k gold—using the traditional lost-wax casting method. This step captures every intricate detail of the CAD design in solid metal.
7. Hand Finishing & Stone Setting
Once cast, our master jewelers hand-finish the piece. This includes polishing, refining details, and expertly setting each gemstone by hand. Even with advanced CAD technology, this human touch ensures exceptional craftsmanship, security, and brilliance.
8. Final Quality Inspection
Before delivery, your custom bridal or engagement piece undergoes a thorough quality inspection. We verify stone security, symmetry, polish, and comfort to ensure it meets our exacting standards—and exceeds yours.
Why We Use CAD for Custom Bridal Jewelry
CAD allows us to combine modern precision with traditional craftsmanship. It gives our clients confidence, transparency, and control throughout the design process while ensuring a flawless final result that is made to last a lifetime.
